Here we answer the questions currently being most commonly asked of our conveyancing lawyers.

Can I still move home in the current crisis?

Our residential property lawyers are continuing to work on hundreds of moves.

We are opening new files for clients and conducting all the usual preliminary enquiries including searches, although these may take a little longer to come back. We will however do all we can to progress matters as far as possible, so yes, it is certainly still possible to move home.

Please click here for an instant online quote or alternatively email us at [email protected] and we will be happy to discuss your personal circumstances.

Kerseys Solicitors LLP is dealing with my property purchase. What should I do?

Our lawyers are regularly talking to everyone who is currently working towards selling and purchasing.

Please view our people page on our web site for direct contact details of your lawyer and keep in touch with them on their direct dial telephone number or email them to discuss your position.

It is worth bearing in mind that once you exchange contracts you will be legally bound to complete your move within a certain time frame, so we are working closely with everyone else in your chain to achieve the best outcome.

Everybody is affected by the current crisis but no two transactions are the same, so we strongly recommend that you discuss your strategy with us.

What if I think I should be self-isolating?

If we are dealing with your sale or purchase and someone in your family becomes ill or if you or any family member is in isolation or is feeling unwell with symptoms that may be linked to Covid-19, please call us or email immediately to let us know. Additionally, if you become aware that anyone else connected with the transaction is unwell please tell us as soon as possible.

A significant concern for many people is the availability of removal companies. Our residential property lawyers can, where necessary, help ensure you are ready to move at short notice when removers can be found and mortgage funds are available.

How can I get in touch with you if your office is closed?

Please view our people for your lawyer and keep in touch with them on their direct dial telephone number or email them to discuss your position.

You can still post hard copy or original documents to us or through our doors as they will be picked up. However, we would recommend that you scan or email documents where possible.
