Chancellor Extends Furlough Scheme Until 2 December 2020
Job Support Scheme (JSS) put on hold as Furlough is extended
The furlough scheme has been extended until the 2 December 2020 when the new lock down measures are expected to be eased, the extension allows for furloughed workers across the United Kingdom can continue to receive 80% of their current salary, up to £2,500.00 per month.
The payment to employees will be subject to deductions for tax and National Insurance Contributions in the normal way.
The cost for firms will be cheaper than it was last month when the furlough scheme was being wound down.
Who can claim Furlough?
The scheme applies to all employers, not just those forced to shut by the government. Employers can claim for any employee who was on their PAYE payroll by 23:59 30th October 2020 irrespective of whether or not they have previously been furloughed.
