Promoting a Collaborative Approach to Divorce – Good Divorce Week
Monday sees the start of “Good Divorce Week” which could be considered a contradictory phrase given divorce is often associated with conflict, anger and heartache from the breakdown of a relationship, however, conceptually the ethos behind “Good Divorce Week” is to try to promote a collaborative approach to divorce, to reduce conflict and to reduce the impact it has on children.
We seek to promote the idea of couples coming out of the process amicably, with respect for each other, putting children’s needs first and doing all they can to limit the overall impact of the breakdown on their children and the family as a whole. It is our hope that highlighting this approach will raise awareness of how both parties can play a pivotal role in reducing conflict in separation.
