International Women’s Day

Kerseys Solicitors LLP supports the United Nations’ International Women’s Day, celebrating the achievements of women and focusing on gender equality and the rights of women and girls all over the world.

At Kerseys we continually strive to be an inclusive and diverse firm.  We are particularly proud of our record in relation to supporting and promoting women lawyers.

We started strongly in 1969 when Miranda Reckitt was taken on as the first female solicitor in the Ipswich and surrounding area.  Miranda was later promoted to partner, again breaking ground as the first female partner in a local law firm.

Kerseys Solicitors in Ipswich and Colchester has continued to be a great place for women to work, both generally in terms of flexible working for all staff and for solicitors.  Although the latest available figures from the Solicitors Regulation Authority show that women make up 52% of lawyers in law firms, our statistic is 61%.

Unlike many other firms, women are also well represented at partner level.  The SRA figures show that the average for law firms is 35% women at partner level whereas at Kerseys the current make-up of the partner group is 60%!

We are a firm who believes in supporting everyone no matter what their gender, age or culture.  Everyone has a right to grow and develop and be the best individual they can be with the support of others.
